The Drayton Manor Park MG Metro Cup

Castle Combe 16th October 2006


 

An early start for the Metros meant that all cars had to be pushed round to scrutineering because of the strict noise restrictions at Castle Combe. Weather conditions were a little murkey for practice but cleared up for the race to cloudy but dry.

At the recent drivers meeting Castle Combe came out as the ost popular circuit and this was further endorsed by our best grid of the year with 22 starters.

Barry Lake beat Jon Flanigan by just 0.38 sec. with both of them finishing significantly ahead of the class D cars.

Jon Flanigan ended up a very close 2nd

Paul Ashton recovered from a spin to take 2nd in class B

Terry Bracey-Wright took class A honours

Dan Ludlow was the 1st of the two class D cars home
